Penny Oleksiak is a Canadian competitive swimmer who specializes in the freestyle and butterfly events.
At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she became the first Canadian to win four medals in the same Summer Games and the country’s youngest Olympic champion, with a gold in the 100 m freestyle, a silver in the 100 m butterfly, and two bronzes in the women’s freestyle relays (4×100 m and 4×200 m).
With her gold medal win, she became the first athlete born in the 2000s to claim an Olympic gold medal in an individual event. She is the current junior world and Canadian record holder in the 100 m freestyle and 100 m butterfly, initially setting the records at the age of 15 while improving them at age 16.
She currently shares the Olympic record in the 100-meter freestyle with Simone Manuel. Her success at the 2016 Olympics led to her being awarded the 2016 Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada’s top athlete and the Bobbie Rosenfeld Award as Canada’s top female athlete for 2016.
Beyond her sporting achievements, Penny is an advocate for mental health and she has spoken out on many podcasts, interviews and social media to raise awareness of its importance. She also champions various causes through engagements and ambassadorial roles for We Day, Thrive for Good, and has worked with the Terry Fox Foundation and Sickkids Hospital on various social media campaigns.
Adored for her genuine enthusiasm and positivity, Chloe Wilde emerged in 2013 as the winner of the Much VJ Search, and has since brought her fresh perspective and outgoing personality to her role as ETALK reporter.
Following her MUCH VJ Search win, Wilde became the host of E! before arriving at Canada’s #1 Entertainment Show ETALK as a reporter.
An advocate for health and wellness, Wilde launched her own online community, Healthy Is Hot in 2018, creating a real, raw, and supportive space for open conversations on difficult health-related topics and tips and tricks for living one’s best life. In January 2020, Wilde took viewers on a life-changing journey for the mind, body, and soul in a Crave Original Series HEALTHY IS HOT, developed from her highly successful brand.
Chloe has built a strong interest in science through the years which led her to complete a degree in psychology from McGill University and to pursue a degree in nursing although her passion for music festivals, concerts and cameras taken the lead in this direction.
